Rally Estonia - 2nd Day - 2nd Loop: Rovanpera stays in top, Neuville fights back



At the end of second day of Rally Estonia, Kalle Rovanpera extended his lead over Craig Breen, with Thierry Neuville climbing in the third position.


Kalle Rovanpera extended his advantage setting the fastest times on SS6, SS7 and SS9 while he had a hot moment on Stage 8 as he ran wide on a right-hander corner. Finally, he went sideaways before the end of Stage 9 and there was grass on the windscreen of his Yaris.


Craig Breen remains second and he claimed his first stage win at Rally Estonia.


Thierry Neuville completes the top three and he had to repair his brakes after the Service Park on the road section before the start of Stage 6. Also, he ran wide on Stage 7 and he managed to keep his car on the road.


Sebastien Ogier drops fourth at the end of Stage 8 as he was slower that the Belgian driver and he could not match his pace with their mangin being at six seconds.


Elfyn Evans follows his teammate with their gap being at 15,7 seconds. However, the first one lost time on Stage 6 as he did not feel comfortable to push.


Teemu Suninen climbed from ninth to sixth position, but he was not able to push. Indeed he mentioned that he had a headache due to the jumps and the landings while he said that he had faced the same problem with the water pressure as in the morning loop.


Pierre-Louis Loubet drops in seventh position at the end of the last stage of the day and he stayed away from troubles.


Takamoto Katsuta is forced to retire from Rally Estonia as the doctors recommended to Daniel Barritt to rest after a bank injury he faced after Stage 4.
