Breen cheerful with the second place at Ypres Rally Belgium

Craig Breen is being happy with his driving and with his performance at Ypres Rally Belgium finishing in second place in two events in a row.

The Irish driver finished second in Belgium securing his second podium for this season and in fact he was in the top of the overall classification of Ypres Rally Belgium at the end of Stage 2, but he lost his lead by Thierry Neuville at the end of Stage 4.

The only mistake Breen did in that event was in Stage 17 when he went off into a bank and he lost 7,6 seconds.

In this point, it must be mentioned that only Craig Breen and Thierry Neuville had experience from that event in comparison with their rivals as both of them had participated there in the past, and that means that they knew the roads and what to expect from that race.

"I love Ypres", said Breen.

"The stages are just fantastic and this year was no different.

"I did as much as I could with this event.

"I led for a while and made sure I was right there.

"Everything just felt natural through the whole weekend.

"It just felt nice and calm and I really enjoyed my drive.

"We obviously quite soon established that we needed to do our job and protect Thierry and we did just that and brought the result home, so I’m happy.

"This is a great result for the team, but it’s also a strong result for me.

"The pleasing thing is that this second place here in Ypres comes right on the back of a second place in Estonia – a completely different rally.

"I’ve had podiums before, but not two successive ones like this.

"You know what I want next year, I want a full programme.

"At the moment, nothing is sorted, but I’m hoping a result like this can’t hurt our hopes and aspirations".
