Oliver Solberg announced today that Craig Drew will navigate him in the upcoming Rally Finland after Aaron Johnston's departure.
Solberg and Johnston had been competing together since 2019, but they ended their partnership after the end of Acropolis Rally Greece, so the first one chose Drew as his new co-driver.
Drew is an eight-time ARA Champion and he dominated in the roads of United States with David Higgins having driven a Subaru Impreza STi.
In fact Higgins had Solberg as his teammate when the last one competed in ARA series.
However, it is understood that Drew will co-drive Solberg only for Rally Finland as the last one wants to find a permanent replacement for Johnston.
Finally, it must be mentioned that Johnston will co-drive Takamoto Katsuta at Rally Finland after Keaton Williams decided not to continue as a temporary replacement for Daniel Barritt.
"Craig is a good guy, a former team-mate and somebody I know well", Solberg said.
"I’m looking forward to working with him".
On the other side, Drew said about this new adventure: "It’s a tough event to jump into a new car and with a new driver but, having worked as team-mate to Oliver in 2019, it won’t take us long to gel.
"We’ll be sure to work hard together on the pre-event test to find a rhythm with Oliver’s pace note system and prepare for this iconic event as much as we can".
