Hyundai Motorport confirmed today that Teemu Suninen will drive the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 at Rally Spain alongside Jari Huttunen.
Due to the fact that Oliver Solberg will drive in the main category of WRC with the Rally1 car of Hyundai, the Korean team left only with one driver for WRC2 category.
Therefore, it decided that Suninen will compete in Spain with the second car of the team to replace Solberg.
Suninen left M-Sport Ford at the end of this year's Ypres Rally Belgium with an immediate effect, so he currently is out of WRC competition, but he will drive a Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 at Rally Finland in two weeks.
The Finn driver was a main driver for M-Sport Ford in 2020 and he became a part-timer this season as he shared the second Rally1 and Rally2 car of the British team with Adrien Fourmaux who impressed everyone with his performance in comparison with the first one.
