Ogier handed a time penalty and a fine for safety breach at Rally Finland

The stewards of Rally Finland decided to give a time penalty and a fine to Sebastien Ogier following his safety infringement in Stage 12 of Rally Finland.

Specifically, the stewards examined photos and videos of the interior of Ogier's car and they noticed that the strap of his helmet was not fastened correctly, so the Frenchman drove through Stage 12 in an unsafe way for himself.

Therefore, he has to pay 800 euros and he received a one-minute time penalty for this incident, but he keeps being in fifth position overall as his gap from the sixth Gus Greensmith was over two minutes at the end of second day.

However, Ogier, Julien Ingrassia and Kaj Lindstrom were summoned to the stewards with the first one explaining to them that he had no reason to forget fastening his helmet through the stages

It is noteworthy that Ogier received a fine at this year's Rallye Monte Carlo for the same reason, but in that event he forgot fastening his helmet.
