Kalle Rovanpera will take part regularly in this week's Rally Spain as his doctors said that he recovered from his back injury.
The Finn driver had an accident in Stage 10 of Rally Finland and he was forced to retire from the rest of the day as he hit the front of his Yaris to a sandback.
This incident happened when he lost the rear of his car after a left-hander and he did everything he could to save the car, but eventually he went straight into a sandback after this destabilization.
However, he restarted on the last day of Rally Finland under the regulations of Rally2, but he withdrew from Powerstage, because his back was aching after his crash in Stage 10.
According to Jari-Matti Latvala who talked about this incidint, he believes that Rovanpera's back was injured due to the fact that the last one had his arms crossed during the crash.
Moreover, Latvala expained the reason why Rovanpera was absent from the last stage of Rally Finland and more specifically he said that Kalle should have taken a rest after his injury to be ensured that he would be fit for Rally Spain.
Finally, the reason of Rovanpera's restart on the last day of Rally Finland was to secure some manufacturer points in the case of Elfyn Evans or Sebastien Ogier retiring before the Powerstage.
