Julien Ingrassia is talking about his WRC career having Sebastien Ogier alongside him and he is referring to the emotions he felt when he finished the Powerstage of Rally Monza.
The French co-driver announced that this season would be his last in WRC as he will retire from WRC and he will not continue with Ogier in 2022.
The crew has started its joint career 15 years ago and they became the second most successful WRC crew in the history of the World Rally Championship after having been crowned World Champions for the eighth time in their career at the end of 2021.
Moreover, they have won 54 WRC events and they were 91 times in the podium positions while it is noteworthy that they have won 632 stages.
Finally, their first title came in 2013 when they were competing for Volkswagen Motorsport while they have become World Champions with three different manufacturers (Volkswagen Motorsport, M-Sport, Toyota).
"Maybe you have seen on the final stage, once we passed the finish line, I could not keep the tears out of my eyes", Ingrassia said.
"I was so happy to be with Seb and say ‘wow all those 15 years we have been spending in a human lifetime, this is just crazy’.
"This is just pure joy and I wanted to finish my career with this joy and these emotions.
"We did a great job in 15 years from the very first step with Seb when we met and we had our first pace note together and our first podium and our first win together.
"Some were not easy I can tell you.
"We always worked very hard and we never forget our target was to reach the top.
"Once we reached the top it was even harder and more difficult to remain at the top.
"Mission accomplished…"
