The current technical director of Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT, Tom Fowler, is being negative to leave his team and to join Hyundai Motorsport as its new team principal for next season as he remains loyal to Toyota.
According to some rumors, Fowler was one of the candidates for the team principal position of Hyundai Motorsport after Andrea Adamo's departure earlier this month.
However, Fowler has been the technical director of Toyota for five years and he contributed with his advice to the two manufacturer's championships that Toyota won in 2018 and in 2021.
Finally, Christian Loriaux, Pablo Marcos, Yves Matton and Petter Solberg are the potential candidates to fill in the team principal position of Hyundai as Scott Noh was announced as a temporary team principal.
"After all the effort that has gone into the world championships with the Yaris WRC in the last five years – and the Yaris Rally1 for the seasons ahead – even if a position like that was on the table, it would be impossible to walk away from what we have created here at Toyota", Fowler said to DirtFish.com.
