At the end of the first loop of the second day, Kalle Rovanpera leads Rally Sweden with Elfyn Evans and Esapekka Lappi following him.
Kalle Rovanpera stole the lead from Thierry Neuville at the end of Stage 8 and extended his advantage over his rivals as he was the fastest driven in Stage 9.
Elfyn Evans is second overall and his gap from his teammate is at 4,8 seconds. He was the fastest driver in Stage 8.
Esapekka Lappi completes the top three and is one of the drivers who is chasing the win of Rally Sweden despite the fact that he dropped some time in Stages 9 and 10. He climbed to third position overall at the end of Stage 10.
Thierry Neuville dropped three places and is now in fourth position overall as he found difficulty to find grip and he had a lot of wheel spin as he reported at the end of Stage 8. In addition to that, he went straight in a corner and had to reverse to go on again in Stage 10 resulting in dropping 11,2 seconds there and losing more positions. Finally, he reported at the end of Stage 10 that the car was slowing down due to hybrid system issue.
Oliver Solberg completes the top five and he was not happy at all with his pace in this loop.
Takamoto Katsuta remains sixth and he is more than one minute far away from the fifth position overall.
Adrien Fourmaux comes right behind Katsuta and their gap is at 38,3 seconds.
Gus Greensmith is in eight position overall and is chasing his teammate, Fourmaux, as their gap is at 12,3 seconds.
Ott Tanak and Craig Breen restart today under the regulations of Rally2 after their retirement on Friday and are outside the top ten.
Moreover, Breen set the fastest time in Stage 10 and this was the first stage win for M-Sport Ford in Sweden.
