Oliver Solberg announced yesterday via his social media that he will take part in Rally de Portugal and will drive the Rally2 car of Hyundai there.
Solberg has two retirements so far this season and it was expected that he would be absent from the round four of this year's World Rally Championship.
However, Hyundai wants to give him the chance to get more experience, therefore the Swede driver will compete in WRC2 class next month.
Finally, it must be mentioned that Hyundai has not competed in WRC2 class yet despite the fact that it had announced its WRC2 drivers for 2022.
"Great news to start the week!", Solberg wrote on his social media.
"As you know we won’t be driving the Rally1 car at Rally Portugal, so instead we'll be competing in a Hyundai i20 N Rally2 in a Monster Energy packed entry, so we can keep building experience and get as many kms as we can to prepare for the future!
"This is a ‘bonus’ entry for us and we’re really thankful for Hyundai and everyone’s support to make this happen!"
