Kalle Rovanpera thinks that his victory at Rally Croatia is the best win for him so far in his WRC career despite the fact that he faced difficulties on the last day of this event.
The Finn driver was very dominant throughout the last weekend even in the Shakedown session and was leading the Rally Croatia from Friday morning till the end of this event.
The only problems that he faced were when he suffered from a front left puncture in Stage 11 resulting in dropping 54,5 seconds and due to the tyres choice on Sunday as he lost the lead at the end of Stage 19 when the rain came.
After the end of Rally Croatia, Rovanpera remains first on driver's championship with 76 points with Thierry Neuville following him with 47 points.
"This feels like the best win for me so far", Rovanpera said.
"It was such a tough weekend, the conditions were incredibly difficult and I think everyone had some issues or moments at some point.
"Sunday was really tough again.
"It looked like it was going to be too difficult for us to win with the way that the weather turned out.
"We lost a lot of time in the rain and we didn’t think the tyre choice would be too good for the final stage either with how much mud there was.
"But we just decided to go for it and push hard and the time was great.
"There will be some more difficult rallies to come opening the road on gravel which will be a new experience for me, but for now I’m happy of course: The pace is really good and everything is going well".
