Loeb in discussions with M-Sport Ford to do at least two more rallies in 2022

Sebastien Loeb admits that he is negotiating with M-Sport Ford to seal one or two more outings with the Puma Rally1 car for the rest of this season.

The nine-time World Champion competed with M-Sport Ford in Monte Carlo and in Portugal this year securing his 80th WRC win in the first round of this year's World Rally Championship.

Although many people expecting Rally de Portugal because of Sebastien Loeb's and Sebastien Ogier's return in WRC, the first one did mistake in Stage 5 as he crashed on the first corner of that stage resulting in damaging the suspension of his car.

However, M-Sport mechanics managed to repair his car and he restarted on Saturday under the regulations of Rally2, but he retired at the end of Stage 11 as he was driving slowly during that stage due to the fact that the turbo was broken.

After this technical issue, the British team decided to retire his car from the rest of Rally de Portugal, but it was rumoured that he will compete in Kenya next month.

"My WRC plans for the rest of the year is not decided, we are speaking about maybe doing another one or two but at the moment nothing is confirmed", Loeb said.

"On Friday I made a mistake, on Saturday we broke the turbo, so it’s not great.

"But on the other side, we saw at the beginning of the rally that the car is good, and it’s fast, we were leading the rally after four stages, so that was a very good start.

"I hope there will be another chance to try this car later this year".
