Takamoto Katsuta is being unsure if he can repeat a podium finish again at Safari Rally Kenya this year and admits that he was lucky last year considering the problems he faced there.
The Japanese driver finished second overall in Kenya last year and secured his first WRC podium in his WRC career while the only problem he faced there was with his set-up as he had a spin in Stage 2 resulting in stalling the engine of his Toyota Yaris WRC.
In addition to that problem, he damaged the damper of his car, but he managed to fix it and to continue his race.
"I can’t promise it to be honest", Katsuta said to DirtFish when he was asked if he could take a podium or even win.
"You never know what’s going to happen and even when you are taking care, still something can happen.
"Of course last year I had luck and everything, I had the damper broken but still we were able to fix it and continue so we were very lucky.
"And hopefully this year we also have some more good luck.
"I need to find more pace of course and also I need to feel more comfortable with the car".
