Safari Rally - 1st Day: Ogier goes fastest in Kasarani, puncture for Rovanpera



At the end of the first stage of Safari Rally Kenya, Sebastien Ogier takes an early lead with Thierry Neuville and Ott Tanak following him.


Sebastien Ogier is first overall as he set the fastest time in SS1 and left the second Thierry Neuville behind for six tenths of a second.


Ott Tanak completes the top three and comes right behind Neuville for five tenths of a second.


Elfyn Evans is fourth overall and his gap from Tanak is only at one tenth of a second.


Sebastien Loeb completes the top five and his head-to-head fight in this stage was against his compatriot, Ogier.


Takamoto Katsuta is in sixth overall after the end of this super special stage while Craig Breen follows him in the overall classification with their gap being at 2,5 seconds.


Gus Greensmith, Oliver Solberg and Adrien Fourmaux complete the top ten.


Kalle Rovanpera is eleventh overall as he ran wide on the first left-hander and almost rolled his Yaris. The excursion caused a rear right puncture and he ends 11.6sec off the pace.
