The organizers of Acropolis Rally Greece announced the rally route of their event of 2022 and our editor, Sofia Siriatou, attended the presentation for that event last night.
The recce of Acropolis Rally Greece will start on September 5-7 for all drivers while the Shakedown session will be held on September 8.
OAKA stadium will host the ceremonial start and a super special stage where two drivers will compete against each other on tarmac. All these will start on September 8th.
The rally action will start on Friday in Loutraki area with six stages from which there will be two new stages "Harvati" and "Dafni" which did not include in last year's itinerary. In fact, the stage "Dafni" was used in the past. Finally, it must be mentioned that there will be no service that day which will be a challenge for the drivers.
The rally will move to the Lamia city for the two final days of the race. Saturday stages will be six and will include the famous "Tarzan" and "Pyrgos" stages. Stage "Perivoli" is a brand-new stage and will be running for the first time in the history of Acropolis Rally Greece while the historic stage "Pavliani" will not be in this year's itinerary.
Moreover, the rally will end with three stages on Sunday 11 September and "Elefthohori" stage will be running twice and will consider which driver will score the maximum points in Powerstage.
Finally, the total distance of the race is at 305,86 Kilometers and will include 16 stages while the longest stage of the rally is "Pyrgos" with 33,20 Kilometers.
