Thierry Neuville says that Hyundai team boss decision will have an influence to Ott Tanak's future in the team, but he does not believe that the last one will retire next year.
Both Hyundai drivers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the current situation as the Korean team has yet to decide who will be the team boss and will take the necessary decisions. In fact, Tanak did not hesitate to say that Julien Moncet is not the proper person for leading a team.
Since Andrea Adamo's departure from Hyundai at the end of 2021, the Alzenau team has not decided yet who will be the permanent team principal, but instead of this they named Moncet as their deputy team principal for 2022.
"I guess that, first of all, I don’t think that Ott is retiring that quickly", Neuville answered when he was asked about Tanak taking a year out.
"I knew he had a bit of a difficult time also at home but I guess the reason the results gave him the motivation he needs.
"And I guess that he’s like everybody, waiting the news to who will be leading our team in the future and so on.
"So I think this will play a big part in his decision as well, to stay or to stop or whatever".
