At the end of the second day, Sebastien Ogier remains the leader of Rally Spain with Thierry Neuville and Kalle Rovanpera following him.
Sebastien Ogier extended his lead over his rivals at the end of Saturday afternoon as he set the fastest driver in Stage 12 and 13.
Thierry Neuville stole the second place from Kalle Rovanpera at the end of Stage 15 as he set the fastest time there. Their gap was only at four tenths of a second at the end of SS14 despite the fact that the Belgian reported understeer on the penultimate stage of the day.
Kalle Rovanpera comes right behind the Hyundai driver for 1,4 seconds and dropped to third after the superspecial stage in Salou.
Ott Tanak remains fourth overall and managed to take some time back from his teammate Neuville as he was faster than the last one in the first two stages of the loop. However, the Estonian was 9,8 seconds off the pace in Stage 14 and flames were coming from the front left wheel. He left immediately from the stop control of SS14 and it was suggested that he might have an impact there.
Dani Sordo completes the top five and risked everything in Stage 14 as he wanted to take a stage win in his home event. Indeed, he won his first stage with the i20N for the weekend. Finally, he clipped a haybale in Stage 15.
Elfyn Evans is still in sixth place overall and left Craig Breen behind for 12,1 seconds.
Takamoto Katsuta, Adrien Fourmaux and Pierre-Louis Loubet complete the top ten.
