Suninen hopes to do some rallies with Hyundai Rally1 in 2023

Teemu Suninen hopes to compete in some rallies with the Hyundai i20N Rally1 next year and believes that he can be useful for the team in developing the car package while he is keen on continuing the development of i20N Rally2 car.

The Finn driver is currently competing with Hyundai Motorsport N in WRC2 class this season and Rally Japan will be the last event for him after his securing his first win with the team at Rally Spain last weekend.

Suninen joined Hyundai last year after his departure from M-Sport Ford and made his debut with the Alzenau team at Rally Monza of 2021 as he replaced Ott Tanak in this event and finished in sixth place overall.

"It’s really hard to say", Suninen said when he was asked what he could say about next year and whether he’d still be with Hyundai.

"I would be happy to continue, especially if we can do work in Rally1.

"Also, in Rally2, if Hyundai is continuing with the project, for me we have done a good job this year to make the car be at a winning pace and I think it would be clever to continue the project and be on the top with that car also.

"I’m pretty confident in a few rallies I’d be a good package or helpful for a few rallies.

"Like Estonia and Finland, there are no drivers who have won with the same car against me.

"So, I think I could bring some points for the team.

"We will see what is happening for next year".
