Rally Japan - 3rd Day - 2nd Loop: Neuville steals the lead from Evans, Ogier fifth

At the end of the third day, Thierry Neuville is the new leader of Rally Japan with Elfyn Evans and Ott Tanak following him.

Thierry Neuville is now leading Rally Japan after Stage 14 and set the fastest time in this superspecial stage. He was faster than Elfyn Evans in all stages in this afternoon loop and climbed to the lead at the end of Stage 12 despite the fact that he reported diff spin in SS12.

Evans dropped to second position overall due to the fact that he did not feel comfortable with the front of his Yaris as he mentioned at the end of SS12. His gap from the leader Neuville is at four seconds.

Ott Tanak remains third overall and it is diffucult for him to chase Evans for the second place as their margin is at 35,9 seconds.

Takamoto Katsuta follows the Hyundai driver for 24,6 seconds and did not so much in SS12 after the mistakes he did on the opening run of that stage.

Sebastien Ogier is now in fifth place overall as he was the fastest driver in Stages 11 and 12.

Gus Greensmith slipped behind Ogier at the end of Stage 11 while he faced a power steering fault in SS12. His gap from the fifth Ogier is at 38,7 seconds.

Kalle Rovanpera and Craig Breen are outside the top ten. However, it must be mentioned that the first one climbed some places and is now eleventh overall after losing time in the morning loop of Saturday.
