The rally route of Rally Sweden 2023



The organizers of Rally Sweden announced the rally route of their event of 2023 adding four new stages.

The recce for Rally Sweden will start on February 7-8 for P1 and P2 drivers while the Shakedown session will be held on February 9. More specifically, the Shakedown stage will be different to the previous one as it is located in Hakmark now and the drivers will have to cover a distance of 5,47 Kilometers to make their final adjustments for the start of the race. On Thursday, apart from the Shakedown, the drivers will run in Umea before the rally action starts on Friday. This superspecial stage ("Umea Sprint") was held on Friday and Saturday this year. Before the first stage of the rally, there will be a ceremonial start in Podium Red Barn Arena at 18:30 local time.

On Friday 10 February, the total loop will include seven stages with their total distance reaching the 106,88 Kilometers. "Brattby" stage will be the first stage for this day and the organizers added 0,27 Kilometers compared to the previous version. The next one stage will be "Sarsjöliden" and is identical as SS17/19 which was on the final day of this year's Rally Sweden. "Botsmark" will be a brand-new stage with 27 competitive kilometers and is the longest stage of the event. The second day will be completed with the "Umea Sprint". The three first stages of the day will be running twice.

On Saturday 11 February, the itinerary will include seven stages and 126,28 Kilometers. Another new stage is "Norbby" which will be the first stage for this day. "Kamsjön", "Sävar" and "Umea" are the other three stages which were included to 2022 version. Apart from "Umea", the drivers have to run from the three first stages two times.

On the final day, the second pass of "Umea" will host the Powerstage of the rally with 11,02 kilometers in length. "Västervik" will run for the first time in WRC and is the second longest stage of the rally with 26,48 kilometers in distance. This stage will have two passages and the drivers will start their final day from there. Finally, the drivers will return to Podium Ceremony Red Barn Arena around 13:30 to pass the finish line and afterwards the best three finishers will receive their trophies.

Totally, the Rally Sweden of 2023 will include 18 stages and 302,52 Kilometers.
