M-Sport Ford looking forward to 2023 after to build on Puma potential

The team principal of M-Sport Ford, Richard Millener, says that his team cannot wait to start the next season and names the achievements that his drivers made during 2022.

Sebastien Loeb took the first victory for M-Sport Ford in hybrid era as he won Rallye Monte Carlo of 2022 while the team returned back to the glory days as there had been a long time. Gus Greensmith won his maiden stage in WRC on the first round of this year's championship as Pierre-Louis Loubet did in Greece.

In fact, Loeb was leading the rallies on the opening days with the Puma, but he had to retire three times due to mechanical issues, therefore he was losing his lead. On the other hand, the youngster Loubet was fighting for the lead of Acropolis Rally with his teammate Loeb and managed to steal the lead from the last one on the morning loop of Friday. It is understood that Puma Rally1 is a very competitive car, but its potential has not been shown yet as the main squad of the Cumbrian-based team did not take many stage wins in comparison with Toyota and Hyundai drivers.

"Going back to the very top of the season, we continued to demonstrate our ability to win out of the blocks with a new generation of rally car", Millener said.

"That Monte Carlo win with Séb was very, very special.

"And Séb continued to show rally leading speed and potential with the car every time he got in it.

"But beyond Loeb, there was Gus and Pierre-Louis putting in some really, really good results.

"Gus’ start to the year was superb – don’t forget he ran third in the championship after Sweden.

"And Pierre-Louis took his first stage win and led for the first time this year – that’s the sort of pace and potential we can really work with and we would be excited to build on that moving forwards".
