Erik Cais announced today that he will take part in WRC2 class next year with a full-season programme and will drive a Skoda Rally2 car.
More specifically, Red Bull and Cais reached an agreement for 2023 which includes the last one's participation in seven rounds of WRC2 Championship with the view of fighting for the title with his rivals. In addition to that, Skoda Motorsport will provide him the first ever Fabia RS Rally2 that the Czech brand produced despite the fact that this car's debut was postponed for three months due to supply issues.
The 23-year old driver competed in WRC2 this year and was the winner of Rallye Monte Carlo in WRC2 Junior category while he finished third overall in Spain in 2021. However, Cais will start his full programme from Rallye Monte Carlo in one month and will take part in Croatia, Portugal, Sardinia, Finland, Greece and Central Europe Rally next year.
Last but not least, it is expected that he will test the new Fabia in Monte Carlo before Christmas and it must be mentioned that he has the full support of Skoda Motorsport in this attempt.
"I am speechless and extremely happy.
"It's an incredible honour to join the Red Bull family, and I cannot wait to getting it going!
"Thank you so much to everyone who makes dreams come true"!
