The organizers of Rally Mexico announced the rally route of their event of 2023 which returns to WRC calendar after three years.
The recce will start on March 14-15 while the Shakedown will be held on March 16. So far, it is unknown the name of the Shakedown stage, but it will include 5.50 Kilometers of action. After this, the drivers will be head to Guanajuato City for the ceremonial start. The organizers will offer to the fans the chance to watch live their favorite crews as the famous superspecial stage "Street Stage GTO" will be running twice in that day.
The real rally action will start on Friday 17 March with the classic stage "El Chocolate" while "Ortega" and "Las Minas" will follow. The crews will pass two times from these stages with the opening stage will be the longest of the day (31,45 Kilometers). Two superspecial stages (Las Dunas, Distrito Leon Mx Rock & Rally SSS) will be included for the first time at Rally Mexico's itinerary and will conclude the day action.
On Saturday 18 March, "Ibarrilla" will host the opening stage of the day and the last time that it ran was back in 2016. "El Mosquito" and "Derramadero" will be the following stages after the end of "Ibarrilla" while "Las Dunas" superspecial stage will be the final stage of the morning loop. Furthermore, "Las Dunas" will host the penultimate stage of the day while "Distrito Leon Mx Rock & Rally SSS will be the final one of the afternoon loop.
The final day of the rally will start with the superspecial stage "Las Dunas" and afterwards the drivers will head to the famous "Otates" which will be the longest stage of the rally (35,39 Kilometers). "San Diego" will host the penultimate stage of the day and next year's Rally Mexico will conclude with the iconic Powerstage "El Brinco". After the end of the rally, the winning crews will go to Foro del Lago for the finish podium ceremony.
