Jari-Matti Latvala says that the gap between Sebastien Ogier's participations next year will not be too long for him with the view of not losing his speed.
The Frenchman had a partial programme this year and participated in six rallies from which he won only once at Rally Spain. However, it must be mentioned that the gap between the events of the 2022 championship were too long in two cases where four months had passed before his heading to Rally Portugal and Rally New Zealand.
In 2022, Ogier shared the third Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 with Esapekka Lappi and the same scenario will be repeated next year, but the only difference is that Takamoto Katsuta will drive the third car of the team after his promotion.
"From my understanding, Sebastien has not specified how many events, but around half a season is what he has said", Latvala said.
"I think if you would think about him maybe like half a season is a good number.
"But the important thing is that the gaps between the rallies are not getting too long because always when there’s a gap then you can see that it’s a bit more difficult to get in the speed.
"So I think it’s more important if you use it to use drivers for the third position, it’s how you look then that the gaps are not getting too long".
