Block died in a snowmobile accident

Hoonigan announced today morning that Ken Block passed away on Monday 2 January after a crash he had with his snowmobile.

The American driver was a very pioneer and talented person and for sure many people will remember him for his drifting skills. He started his WRC career back in 2007 when he drove a Subaru Impreza STi N12 in Mexico and New Zealand. In 2010, he competed in seven rallies with the Ford Focus RS WRC '08 while he got behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta RS WRC from 2011 to 2014. His last outing at the top level was five years ago when he participated at Rally Spain with a Ford Fiesta WRC while he drove a Ford Escort at Rally Mexico in 2020, but he was competing at the historic category of WRC.

Apart from his entries in WRC, he also competed in World, European and American Rallycross while he got famous by his participations in Gymkhana and his drift videos on YouTube. Last but not least, he had the support from Hoonigan and Monster Energy for many years and it was speculated that he and Petter Solberg would create their own team in WRC in 2023.
