Chris Ingram reveals that he is fighting to find a way to start his WRC2 campaign from this month's Rallye Monte Carlo after his firt appearance in that class last year.
The British driver competed in WRC2 Open Championship in 2022 with a Skoda Fabia evo Rally2, but he did not able to win a rally. More specifically, he took part in six events last season and claimed three stage wins. Despite the fact that he has already revealed the livery of his Skoda Fabia evo Rally2 this year, his entry at Rallye Monte Carlo is not certain as he has not secured the necessary budget for his participation in WRC2 class. Last but not least, it is expected that he will drive the brand-new Fabia RS Rally2 at the midseason while he will be behind the wheel of the past generation of Fabia on the first half of 2023.
"I’ve been in this position before and there’s only one way to deal with it and that’s to fight", Ingram said.
"That’s exactly what I’m doing right now, I’m pushing like crazy to find a way.
"I’m so close to Monte, I can almost touch it.
"I’m talking to potential backers and trying to find the resource to be there, fighting for WRC2 honours.
"It’s Rallye Monte-Carlo, one of my strongest events.
"I did this rally for the first time in my life last year and just fell in love with it.
"It was such a challenge, such a brilliant event.
"And it’s one of the absolute classics, we have to be there".
