Greensmith's first impression with the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2

Gus Greensmith is being very satisfied with the behavior of the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 and admits that he made the right car choice while he reveals the other two rallies that he will do in 2023.

The British driver did not come to an agreement with M-Sport Ford for this season as the team preferred Ott Tanak and Pierre-Louis Loubet to him after an eight-year collaboration. He announced one month ago that he will drive the brand-new Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 in 2023 and his WRC2 campaign will start from Rally Mexico in two weeks. Moreover, he has already tested his new car on gravel and participated in Rali Vieira do Minho this weekend where he finished second overall.

"It’s been clear for the last few years that Toksport and Å koda have been the ones to beat in WRC2, and with Å koda bringing out the new Fabia RS, it really wasn’t a difficult decision to make", Greensmith said.

"After driving the car for a while, it seems that we’ve made the right choice.

"My first impressions of the car are that it’s very easy to drive.

"It was actually quite a surprise - it felt so easy to drive, almost to the point that I felt like we weren’t going very fast!

"When we’ve been looking at the data, though, it seems everything is working fine and looking good.

"A car that’s easy to drive is a car that’s fast.

"I think the plan for the moment is to basically do the rest of the calendar from Mexico onwards.

"In terms of which rallies we’ll score points on, that will be decided over the course of the year.

"We’ll definitely score points in Mexico, Croatia and Portugal, and from then on, we’ll make up our minds for the rest of the season.

"I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking at anything else but winning the championship, but for sure, there’s some good competition this year.

"Whoever wins it will be very deserving".
