Official: Acropolis Rally will remain at WRC calendar until 2025

The WRC Promoter and FIA announced today that they have renewed their deal with the organizers of Acropolis Rally Greece for two more years.

The legendary Acropolis Rally stayed out of World Rally Championship at the end of 2013 and made its return to the WRC calendar in 2021 while the organizers had announced in that year that their event would remain to the calendar until this season.

Rally of Gods celebrates the 70 years presence in rallying in 2023 and a special event was hosted today for this anniversary. During this event, the Deputy Minister of Sports and President of the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece Organising Committee, Lefteris Avgenakis, confirmed that Greece will be the hoster country of a WRC round for further two years which means that Acropolis Rally will stay in World Rally Championship until the end of 2025.

"This agreement secures Greece’s place in the FIA World Rally Championship for the next two years and protects the future of what is undeniably one of the most famous rallies in the world", Larkin said.

"The Acropolis has a rich heritage in WRC, plus some of the most passionate fans around – evidenced by the 65,000 who turned out in the Athens Olympic Stadium last year.

"We look forward to continuing that legacy in Greece over the coming seasons".
