Kalle Rovanpera admits that the second pass of the stages at Rally Sweden was more difficult for him in comparison with the first pass, but he is not worried by the difficulties he faced last weekend.
The reigning WRC Champion was opening the road on Friday and dropped some time in comparison with his rivals as he had to clean the stages. However, the second pass was more difficult as a number of drivers from different categories ran through those stages and created a different line for Rally1 drivers. Totally, Rovanpera claimed six stage win in Sweden and finished fourth overall as Thierry Neuville overtook him on Saturday afternoon for the last place of the podium. Finally, it must be mentioned that he struggled to find confidence with his Yaris on Saturday morning as his mechanics changed the suspension set-up at the end of Friday while he had a spin in Stage 13 resulting in dropping some seconds.
"I'm not really worried, we were in the fight quite well", Rovanpera said when he was asked if he was concerned by the struggles last weekend.
"Definitely, if we didn't have this road position we could have been better.
"It has been quite a difficult weekend but in the end we can be fairly happy.
"There is not too much we can take from finishing fourth.
"We can take that we need to improve.
"The second pass in these conditions we lacked the pace.
"On the first pass we were always in stage winning pace but it is not enough we needed to do it in the second pass.
"It was clear that everyone would be much closer than last year".
