The organizers of Rally Finland announced the rally route of their event for 2023 season which will host the ninth round of World Rally Championship.
On Wednesday 2 August, the crews will be in Jyvaskyla for the ceremonial start of Rally Finland which will be at 20:00 local time. On Thursday, the drivers and the co-drivers will have the chance to make adjuments to their car set-up after the Shakedown session which will be held in Rannankylä. Afterwards, one superspecial stage of 3,48 Kilometers will be running at night and is the same as the last year's Rally Finland, the Harju stage.
The real rally action starts on Friday 4 August with nine stages in total and 104,76 Kilometers in distance. There will be two passes from four stages while "Harju" superspecial stage will conclude the action. "Laukaa" will be the opening stage of the morning and afternoon loop, but features a new start and some epic jumps. After this stage, the crews will run thoughout "Myhinpaa" which returns to the itinerary after eight years. "Lankamma" is the next one stage after "Myhinpaa", but this version will be shorter than the previous years. The "Halttula" stage will be a brand-new to Rally Finland's itinerary with less than 10 kilometers in distance.
Saturday will be the longest day of the rally as it includes two passes from four stages and 160,68 kilometers. The mornind and the afternoon loop will start with "Vastila" which is another new stage. "Paijala" is the following stage after "Vastila" and remains the same as in 2022. "Rapsula" is the 13th and 17th stage of Rally Finland while the concluding stage for both loops will be "Vekkula" which will be also the longest stage of the rally.
The final day includes two passes from two stages. "Moksi-Sahloinen" will be the opening and the penultimate stage of this fast rally and was first introduced back in 2020. "Himos-Jämsä" will host the Powerstage and will be held between the first and the second run of "Moksi-Sahloinen". Moreover, it must be mentioned that "Himos-Jämsä" is a brand-new stage with 9,26 kilometers in distance. After the end of PS, the winning crews will receive their trophies withing the same area: Himos-Jämsä.
Totally, Rally Finland of 2023 includes 22 stages and 320,56 competitive kilometers.
