Pierre-Louis Loubet says that he feels comfortable behind the wheel of Ford Puma Rally1 and his not having delivered results is due to the fact that he did not have a clean rally so far this year.
The Corsican driver did not start in a positive way this season as his best result so far is the sixth place in Sweden where he had a consistent rally despite the fact that it was his first participation in this winter event. In Monte Carlo, he had to drive without power steering for four stages in a row after going off the road and eventually he had to retire on Saturday due to a rear right suspension damage after hitting a bridge. Despite the fact that M-Sport Ford mechanics managed to repair his car for the final day of Rallye Monte Carlo, he was forced to retire before the start of Powerstage due to a water leak. In addition to these, he had to retire from Fiday in Mexico as he had a steering damage after hitting a rock while he dropped more time in SS20 when he went off the road but he managed to complete that stage and to get to the finish line.
"From my side, it's a bit different because I have always felt good in the car", Loubet said.
"The thing is, from the beginning of the season, we have not been able to put everything together to achieve a good result.
"If you look at shakedown or our speed on Thursday in Mexico before the retirement, the speed was really good.
"From my side, the feeling in the car is still very good - we just need to have a clean rally without any problems".
