Ott Tanak admits that it is very necessary for him to have a proper test with the Ford Puma Rally1 on tarmac before the start of Rally Croatia as he is struggling more there than on gravel.
The 2019 WRC Champion will have the chance to participate with the Puma car at Rallye de Ardennes, which will be held in Belgium this weekend, with the intention of getting more comfortable inside his new car before the fourth round of WRC starts on April. At Rallye Monte Carlo, Tanak was struggling to find pace with his Ford car on these asphalt stages and this can be proved by the fact that he did not take a stage win, but he managed to finish fifth overall there.
"Obviously on Tarmac I was struggling a lot more than on gravel, so it’s quite necessary to do a bit of preparation", Tanak said.
"Then we are doing a small event in Ardennes, probably not testing too much.
"I just do probably a bit of mileage.
"But at least it gives some idea for the test day".
