Martin dedicates his Croatia win to Breen

Scott Martin pays tribute to Craig Breen by dedicating his victory at Croatia Rally last weekend and admits that this event was very difficult for everyone in WRC community.

Scott Martin was Breen's co-driver from 2014 to 2018 in ERC, WRC2 class and the main category of World Rally Championship. Both of them joined Citroen Racing in WRC back in 2016 and their maiden podium came in Finland that year with Breen being very emotional about his third place as he remembered his former navigator, Gareth Roberts, who died during their participation in Sicily in 2012. From 2016 to 2018, they secured two podiums at the top level (Rally Finland 2016, Rally Sweden 2018) while they finished at the lowest place at the podium at Rally Estonia five years ago when this event was held for promotional reasons and many WRC drivers took part then. Finally, the pair had finished many times in fifth place overall, but eventually Martin parted ways with Breen at the end of 2018 as the British co-driver joined Elfyn Evans in 2019.

"It's been a demanding and emotional weekend but incredibly special to win this one", Martin said.

"Craig and I had our first WRC podium together so it's fitting that we can be on the top step today to pay tribute to him.

"It's been a tough weekend for so many people, we've tried to enjoy the competition and have fun.

"I think we can be proud of how everyone in the WRC has come together, supported each other and paid respect to Craig this weekend".
