The organizers of Rally de Portugal announced the entries of their event which reach 87.
For WRC entries, Dani Sordo returns to action with the Hyundai i20N Rally1 and will have Thierry Neuville and Esapekka Lappi as his teammates while M-Sport Ford will bring only two cars in this gravel events which will be driven by Pierre-Louis Loubet and Ott Tanak. Finally, Sebastien Ogier will be absent from Rally de Portugal as Toyota chose him to compete in two rallies in a row (Mexico, Croatia), therefore Takamoto Katsuta will score points for the team apart from Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanpera.
The WRC2 participants will be 46 in comparison with Rally1 drivers who will be only eight in total. The most important entries will be those of Gus Greensmith, Oliver Solberg, Nikolay Gryazin, Andreas Mikkelsen, Sami Pajari, Armin Kremer, Marco Bulacia and Erik Cais who will get behind the wheel of a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. In addition to that, the past generation of Fabia RS, Fabia evo Rally2, will be driven by Lauri Joona while Robert Virves, Adrien Fourmaux and Gregoire Munster will compete with a Ford Fiesta MKII Rally2. Hyundai Motorsport N chose Teemu Suninen and Fabrizio Zaldivar as its drivers for this event while Georg Linnamae, Joshua McErlean and Miguel Zaldival will have the chance to participate in Portugal with the Korean car as privateers. Citroen Racing remains dedicated to WRC2 class as Yohan Rossel and Alejandro Cachon will be present with the C3 Rally2.
