Pierre-Louis Loubet says that he wants to be a better mechanic for the rallies following his issue at Safari Rally.
The Corsican driver finished seventh overall in Kenya two weeks ago, but he lost his chance to score some points in Powerstage due to the fact that his Puma suffered from a turbo pressure issue. More specifically, he completed the penultimate stage of the rally in road mode meaning that his car carried a mechanical issue. However, he was not able to solve it before the start of Powerstage and this was the reason that he could not match the times of his rivals there. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that it was his first time in Kenya as he did not have the opportunity to compete in this iconic event in the past.
"Unfortunately before the powerstage we had a turbo issue, so it was not possible to do the powerstage competitively", Loubet said.
"So that was a lot of frustration because we were on very good road position for the powerstage.
"I think I have a bit of work to be able to do mechanics on some small stuff because I think I was able to avoid the problem before the powerstage.
"But yeah, we take too much time to find the problem.
"So that’s it.
"Well I say that but I’m not sure if it was possible to find the problem faster but yeah, some small stuff like that".
