Rovanpera calls Estonia weekend "very special"

Kalle Rovanpera says that last weekend was very special to him as he won Rally Estonia for a third year in a row and achieved his tenth WRC voctory there.

The 2022 WRC Champion was leading Rally Estonia since the opening stage of Friday afternoon and since then he was building a comfortable lead compared to the second Thierry Neuville, but the most remarkable thing is that he set the fastest time in 13 stages in a row showing that no one had the pace to beat him. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that Rovanpera claimed his maiden WRC victory in Estonia two years ago and became the youngest WRC ever driver who won an event of World Rally Championship as he was only 21 years and 289 days old.

"It is an amazing feeling to achieve our 10th WRC win here in Estonia and to win this rally for the third time in a row", Rovanpera said.

"For me it’s a really nice rally and one I have always enjoyed.

"This weekend was something special, winning all the stages from Saturday morning onwards.

"I think we showed our speed and what the car can do quite well, so I’m really happy.

"We did a good job with Jonne, driving at this speed without really having any moments, and pushing all the time but still enjoying the driving, which is not always the case in rallying.

"I felt happy in the car and I was enjoying the nice stages and the great support we had here.

"It was also amazing to celebrate with Sato-san just after the stage and on the podium afterwards – he was so happy".
