Thierry Neuville strongly believes that the results of Francois-Xavier Demaison's hard work at Hyundai will be seen soon considering the last one's motivation and mentality.
Hyundai Motorsport appointed Francois-Xavier Demaison as its new technical director since June 1 as the team did not have a person in this key role. Demaison's CV in Motorsport is very rich as he had been the technical director of Williams F1 Team from 2021 to 2022. However, he is very familiar to WRC as he was the chief engineer at Subaru World Rally Team for two years while afterwards he joined the Citroen Junior Team (2008-2009). After his departure from Citroen, he was the technical director at Petter Solberg World Rally Team in 2010, but the most important thing is that he played crucial role at Volkswagen Motorsport as he helped the German team to build the Polo R which won 12 titles in World Rally Championship (four drivers' titles, four co-drivers' titles and four manufacturers' titles) from 2013 to 2016.
"Maybe it’s going to start soon, that’s for sure", Neuville said when he was asked when Hyundai would start feeling the Francois-Xavier Demaison's effect.
"But for sure he’s still got a big job left in restructuring the different departments but he’s doing that well.
"And for sure you can see that only the victory counts for him, and that’s the mentality he’s pushing into every team member as well.
"And that’s good.
"We have a few new key persons in key positions.
"The restructuring is ongoing and we can see clearly the trend is positive, so that gives us definitely a lot of motivation but it gives a lot of motivation to every team member to see that we are improving, especially on rallies like Finland where it has been difficult.
"It’s good to see".
