Kalle Rovanpera announced today via his social media that he is forced not to take part in a drift event in Germany following his injuries after his crash at Rally Finland.
The reigning WRC Champion was leading Rally Finland from Stage 2 to Stage 7, but he was forced to retire for the rest of ninth WRC round after his crash in Stage 8. More specifically, he rolled his Yaris 11.1 Km into SS8 when he lost the line and touched something with the rear right resulting in crashing. Unfortunately, the rollcage was too extensive that Toyota's mechanics were unable to repair his Yaris for the rest of Rally Finland, therefore Rovanpera scored zero points on his home event.
"Unfortunately I need to skip DMEC rd. 5 Germany", Rovanpera said.
"I hurt my ribs and back in the Rally Finland crash a bit and now to fully recover for the next rallies I decided that we need to skip the next event.
"I tried to drive a bit few days ago, but it was a bit too painful.
"We will be back to DMEC for the final round in Poland!
"It's gonna be crazy!
"See you there".
