Dani Sordo praises Teemu Suninen for his results on the last two events saying that his driving was clever considering the pace of Thierry Neuville and Esapekka Lappi.
Hyundai Motorsport gave the chance to Suninen to get behind the wheel of a Rally1 car for the first time starting from Rally Estonia. The Finn finished fifth overall on his debut with the i20N while he was fighting for the lowest place of the podium with Takamoto Katsuta at Rally Finland, but eventually the Toyota driver managed to complete the top three and finished ahead of Suninen for 4,3 seconds. Finally, the Alzenau-based team confirmed three days ago that Suninen will drive the third i20N at Rally Chile which will be held next month.
"From my side, I think Teemu drove really well", Sordo said.
"It’s important when you get these chances not to make a mistake – but at the same time this isn’t easy because the team is asking you to drive fast, but also to make sure you are at the finish.
"You have to be clever to drive like this and Teemu has done that.
"You could see that Thierry and EP were both pushing and he wasn’t so far from them.
"The times were good.
"The most important thing is that all of us [Hyundai] drivers are comfortable in the car and we can keep pushing for the points for the team".
