Acropolis Rally - 1st Day: Rovanpera edges Hyundai trio at Water Square, Evans goes 12th



At the end of the first day, Kalle Rovanpera is leading Acropolis Rally after the end of the superspecial stage with Esapekka Lappi and Thierry Neuville following him.

Kalle Rovanpera was the fastest driver on the superspecial stage, which was held at Water Square, and this stage win puts him into Acropolis lead.

Esapekka Lappi comes right behind his compatrion for 0,3 seconds and has left behind his Hyundai teammates.

Thierry Neuville completes the top three and is just one tenth of a second behind EP.

Dani Sordo does the 2-3-4 for the Korean car brand and two tenths of a second separate him from Lappi which means that all Hyundai drivers have a 0.1-second gap between them before the start of Friday.

Ott Tanak is in fifth place overall and is just 0,2 seconds behind Sordo.

Sebastien Ogier and Takamoto Katsuta set identical times in SS1, but the first one was faster than the Japanese driver for some thousandths of a second, therefore he is sixth overall.

Pierre-Louis Loubet, Andreas Mikkelsen and Nikolay Gryazin complete the top ten.

Elfyn Evans is outside the top ten, as he set the twelfth-fastest time in Stage 1, and his gap from the leader Rovanpera is at 2,8 seconds.
