Gus Greensmith is beign happy with Toksport and the new Fabia this year after his switch from M-Sport Ford to Skoda Motorsport, but he does not know which his plan will be for 2024.
The British driver left M-Sport Ford at the end of 2022 after a nine-year cooperation with them as the team preferred to secure Ott Tanak and Pierre-Louis Loubet to him for the top championship, therefore Greensmith signed a contract with Toksport and Skoda Motorsport for this season. So far, he has won two events (Rally Mexico, Rally de Portugal) and has only one podium (second place at Acropolis Rally) while he is third overall on the championship with 80 points, 28 points behind the leader Andreas Mikkelsen. His next outing with the new Fabia RS Rally2 will be at Rally Chile later this month and will be his last event of the season as he has already competed in six rounds.
"This year I’ve been very happy with Toksport", Greensmith said.
"They’ve always given me a very good car, as we can see from this year with two wins and one second.
"Things are going well in the championship, so I’m happy with where I am for the moment.
"But that doesn’t mean that’s where I’ll be next year, we’ll have to see.
"For now, though, I’m content".
Finally, he referred to Acropolis Rally: "This weekend was about driving fast, but not too fast, and keeping the car in one piece which is what we did.
"We just had too many technical problems this weekend but, overall, it’s a good result and another trophy".
