The organizers of Acropolis Rally gave to Ott Tanak a time penalty as the last one delayed his departure from the tyre fitting zone after the end of the Friday morning.
The Estonian driver was in fourth place overall at the end of Stage 3 and his gap from the rally leader Thierry Neuville was at 8,7 seconds. However, he did not start on his scheduled time in Stage 4, as he left from the tyre fitting zone after 22 minutes, and so far it is unknown why he delayed on this section. From the photos, he was busy working to repair something on the underside of his Puma. With this lateness, he collected a three-minute and 40-second time penalty which means that he drops outside the top ten. Finally, it must be mentioned that Stage 4 was cancelled and Tanak was not able to start that stage, therefore he may receive a notional time.
