Alberto Heller is talking about his first experience with the Ford Puma Rally1 at Rally Chile two weeks ago and says that it is very likely for him to take part in other rallies with M-Sport Ford at the top level in the future.
The Chilean driver made his WRC debut at his home event two weeks ago as M-Sport Ford gave him the chance to compete there with the Puma Rally1. He finished 15th overall and had to restart on Sunday under the Super Rally regulations due to the fact that he was forced to retire at the end of final Saturday stage with steering issues. During that weekend, he had two spins and suffered from a double rear puncture on the first pass from "Santa Maria de las Cruces" stage while his retirement came after he was not able to return his Puma back to the service park despite Ott Tanak's advices on how to fix his car. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that Heller was opening the roads on Saturday and Sunday and was far away from his rivals' pace considering his stage times.
"Driving this car was amazing", Heller said.
"But it’s not so easy - especially when you are operating the road like I was on Saturday and Sunday.
"My goal was to reach the finish without any trouble and give the car back to M-Sport like they gave it to me - I did that.
"Rally Chile was magic, to have the WRC coming to my country and to my city was really something special and I would love to come back and to repeat that again - it was sad when we finished the last stage and the rally was over.
"We want to repeat what we did here in Chile, but next time I would maybe add a few more events to help to prepare a little bit better.
"To come to compete in this car after one small test was not so easy.
"One thing is sure, if we come back and do it again, we do it with the same team and the same guys - the relationship with M-Sport is really good".
