Sami Pajari announced today that he will take part in WRC2 class with Toyota this year and revealed the livery of his new car.
The Finn driver made his WRC2 debut with Toksport back in 2021 when he drove a Skoda Fabia evo Rally2, but he took part in selected number of events that year as he had a WRC3 campaign with M-Sport Ford then. In 2022, he signed a full WRC2 contract with Toksport and had the chance to secure a drive with the new Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. The team extended his deal for one more season and the youngster managed to take four victories with Toksport at WRC2 Challenger championship and one win in WRC2 category last season. However, Toyota chose him and other drivers to test the new Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 in Alps a month ago, but Pajari was the only one who had the opportunity to drive the Yaris Rally2 concept car at Rallye National Hivernal du Dévoluy as 'zero car'. Finally, it must be mentioned it is rumored that Skoda Motorsport is thinking of returning to WRC2 championship as a factory team in 2024 which means that Toksport may take over Toyota's team at the WRC support category with Pajari making his first outing of the season at Rallye Monte Carlo in three weeks.
"TOYOTA GR YARIS RALLY2 IT IS", Pajari wrote on his social media.
"Welcome new year, new car and new team.
"We are thrilled".
