At the end of Saturday morning, Thierry Neuville is the new rally leader in Monte Carlo with Elfyn Evans and Sebastien Ogier following him.
Thierry Neuville climbed to the first place at the end of Stage 10 as he was the fastest driver in all stages today morning. In fact, he overtook Ogier and was ahead of the Frenchman for 7,2 seconds after the end of SS9 while he was behind the formed rally leader Evans for 6,5 seconds.
Elfyn Evans dropped to second place overall as he was not able to match the pace of Neuville. The #1 driver of Toyota reported that his Yaris had no hybrid power in Stage 10 resulting in sliding behind TN for 0,9 seconds after SS10.
Sebastien Ogier completes the 2-3 for Toyota and comes right behind his teammate for 2,6 seconds.
Ott Tanak is over one minute behind the frontrunners and suffered from engine issues in the morning stages as he could not get his i20N started on the parc ferme. Nevertheless, he set an identical time with Neuville in SS11 and took his first stage win of the season.
Adrien Fourmaux holds the fifth place of Rallye Monte Carlo and managed to build a safety net for the drivers behind him. He followed his team's orders which were to avoid the risks and a potential puncture.
Gregoire Munster stole the sixth place from Andreas Mikkelsen at the end of Stage 9 as the M-Sport driver set the third-fastest time in SS9.
The Norwegian is not seventh overall and lost 46,7 seconds on the opening stage of the day as he locked up coming into the first corner of SS9 and slid up a grass banking. However, the most important thing is that he is feeling more comfortable with his new car since Friday.
Takamoto Katsuta, Nikolay Gryazin and Pepe Lopez complete the top ten.
