Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT confirmed via its preview press release that the team will introduce an engine upgrade to the Yaris Rally1 at Rallye Monte Carlo next week.
The Japanese team will take part with Sebastien Ogier, Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta on the season opener, as Kalle Rovanpera will drive the third car in Sweden, and presented a black livery for this year. Despite the fact that Tom Fowler stated that his team would not bring any upgrade to the Rally1 car as it is a very competitive car and they want to focus on Yaris Rally2, eventually the mechanics worked hard during the pre-season break and will introduce an engine upgrade from Rallye Monte Carlo onwards resulting in improving further the response at low speed and the torque curve.
