At the end of the first day, Kalle Rovanpera is leading Rally Sweden with Takamoto Katsuta and Elfyn Evans following him.
Kalle Rovanpera takes an early lead in Sweden as he was the fastest time on the superspecial stage in Umea.
Takamoto Katsuta follows his Finn teammate for 1,4 seconds as Elfyn Evans completes the 1-2-3 for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT.
One tenth of a second separates the fourth Ott Tanak from Evans who is 0,6 seconds behind the second place.
Adrien Fourmaux sets an identical time with Tanak in Stage 1, but he was slower than the last one for some thousandths of a seconds and is in fifth place.
Thierry Neuville is only sixth overall and said that he has to work to get more traction and good braking points for Friday.
Esapekka Lappi, Gregoire Munster, Oliver Solberg and Nikolay Gryazin complete the top ten.
Lorenzo Bertelli is outside the top ten.
