Sebastien Ogier revealed via his social media that the French president, Emmanuel Macron made him a Knight of the Legion of Honour for his success in World Rally Championship.
Ogier is the second most successful driver in World Rally Championship after his compatriot, Sebastien Loeb, as he has become a WRC Champion eight times in his career. In addition to that, he claimed his 59th victory and his 100th podium in Croatia two weeks ago while he is still able to win rallies despite the fact that he spends limited time inside the Yaris after his having a partial programme with Toyota since 2022. His next outing of the season will be at Rally de Portugal in six days and will have an advantage compared to the title contenders due to his road position. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that he is currently fifth on the championship and has competed only in two out of four rounds of this year's championship.
"I had the great honour of being made a Knight of the Legion of Honour by French president Emmanuel Macron this week", Ogier said on his social media.
"It's been a special moment, and a meeting with the president that will remain engraved in my memory.
"It's also an opportunity to look back on my whole path and for me to thank all those who have supported my career".
