At the end of Thursday, Thierry Neuville is the early leader of Rally de Portugal with Sebastien Ogier and Ott Tanak following him.
Thierry Neuville sets an early pace on the superspecial stage of Rally de Portugal on Thursday and left Sebastien Ogier behind for six tenths of a second.
Ott Tanak completes the 1-3 for Hyundai Motorsport despite the fact that Takamoto Katsuta set an identical time with the first one in SS1. In fact, the Toyota driver was slower than Tanak for some thousandths of a second, thus he is in fourth place at the end of SS1.
Kalle Rovanpera comes right behind Tanak and Katsuta for 0,4 seconds, but he will try to get another victory in the season as he will take advantage over his road position on Friday.
Adrien Fourmaux is sixth overall and once again is the top driver for M-Sport Ford as his teammate, Gregoire Munster, is outside the top ten after the end of SS1.
Dani Sordo and Elfyn Evans are in seventh and eighth position overall and both of them want to win this weekend. In addition to that, the Spaniard did not have the intention to push his tyres on the superspecial stage as all the crews will use the same tyres tomorrow.
