At the end of Saturday evening, Sebastien still tops the overall classification at Rally de Portugal with Ott Tanak and Thierry Neuville following him.
Sebastien Ogier keeps the lead of Rally de Portugal at the end of Saturday and extended his advantage over the second Ott Tanak by setting the fastest time in SS16 and SS17.
The Estonian was chasing Ogier for the lead of Rally de Portugal as the first one was the fastest driver in Stages 14 and 15, but he said at the end of SS16 that the engine of his i20N was pushing so hard suggesting a potential engine mapping issue. In addition to these, the soft tyres were very used at the end of SS16 as the cameraman showed via RallyTV.
Thierry Neuville completes the top three and his third place was under threat by his teammate, Dani Sordo, as their gap was at 1,5 seconds after SS16.
Sordo still does the 2-3-4 for Hyundai Motorsport, but he was very disappointed with his time in Stage 17 as he lost many seconds compared to Neuville.
Adrien Fourmaux holds the fifth position of the rally and his target was to catch and to steal the fourth place from Sordo, but he admitted that it was difficult task for him since he lost time on Saturday morning.
Elfyn Evans follows the M-Sport Ford driver on the classification and is in the neverland as he does not threat or be threatened by anyone.
Gregoire Munster remains outside the top ten and was the slowest driver among the grid as he had to clean the roads. Finally, he dropped many seconds in Stage 17 as there was dust inside his Puma.
